Culpeper Minutemen Flag

The Culpeper Minutemen flag is based upon the company organized on July 17, 1775 in the area around Culpeper, Virginia. The Culpeper minutemen served for the patriot side during the American Revolutionary War in 1775 and later, in 1860, served for the Confederate States Army for the entire duration of the American Civil War. The minutemen also organized for World War I and served with the 116th Infantry. The flag depicts a coiled rattlesnake on a white banner with the mottos “Liberty or Death” and “Don’t Tread On Me.”
