The First Navy Jack flag is the current jack flown from the jackstaff of commissioned ships for the United States Navy while anchored or moored pierside. It is considered to be the first U.S. naval jack flown in the first years of the republic. The flag consists of 13 red and white stripes with an uncoiled rattlesnake and the phrase “Don’t Tread On Me”.
