Minnesota State Flag
The Minnesota state flag contains a western sun which symbolizes the flat plains, while the stump represents the importance of the lumber industry. There are three dates which are for the year of statehood (1853), the flag adoption (1893), and the establishment of Fort Snelling (1819). Adopted in 1957. Statehood on September 11, 1858.
