The Vermont state flag features a pine tree in the middle of the coat of arms representing the great forests of Vermont. The cow and three sheaves of wheat represent the dairy and agriculture industries. The deer head on top represents Vermont’s wildlife. Adopted in 1923. Statehood on March 4, 1791.
